Blackberry Bold 9000 Mobile Phone Review – Click With the Smart Camera Phone

blackberry
Carlson Osbourne asked:

Blackberry first came into the market in 1997 as a two-way Pager, and was first introduced by a company called Research in Motion. Today Blackberry Bold features push e-mail, Internet faxing, web browsing, along with other services offered by wireless phones, and is considered to be one of the best Smart phones available in the market. It is also a mobile telephone which supports incoming and outgoing calls, text messaging, a 2-Megapixel camera with flash with a digital zooming capability, and video recording.

The Blackberry Bold 9000 has HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS. It has a full QWERTY keypad, and a screen with bright resolution. The screen size of the mobile phone is a 2.6 inch panel, which is slightly larger than the Curve’s 2.4inch. The width of the screen measures 2.25 inches, as compared to 1.5 inches of that of the Curve. While the Curve has a VGA resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, the Blackberry Bold features 480 x 320 pixels display, which is an increase of almost half of that of the Curve. If you hold your current Blackberry next to the Bold, you would most certainly be tempted to invest in this sophisticated mobile Smartphone.

In the mobile world there are two devices which could be pitted against each other. The first one being the Blackberry Bold and the second is the iPhone. There is a general user perception that the Blackberry Bold has the clearest and sharpest picture, and with its black leather-like back, chrome border and sides, and a black face, the device looks as impressive as its unparallel features. On the other hand, iPhone has a unique design, which has made it an iconic device, making it a device to be easily recognised. One of the greatest advantages of Blackberry Bold is its QWERTY keyboard, which is easy to handle, and this feature is one of the attractions for business users.

The 9000 does not have a FM Radio, and is not a touch screen device. The device has a nominal 2 mega-pixel camera with an in-built flash unit, having a resolution of 480 x 320. The features include a GPS along with Blackberry maps, and the device has geo-tagging feature which lets you tag your photos with relevant geographical areas. The iPhone also has a 2 mega-pixel camera, with geo-tagging feature, and also includes third-party application integration.

The Bold has its HSSPA modem and applications processor located on single chip. This makes the battery life of the device go far, extending the stand-by time to 13 days, with 5 hours of talk time. On the other hand, the battery of the iPhone provides a talk-time upto 5 hours when used in 3G mode, or 10 hours while using the device as 2G. The stand-by time is 300 hours, with 6 hours of Wi-Fi Internet use, seven hours of video playback and up to 24 hours of audio playback.

When it comes to measuring the looks Vs the performing features, Blackberry Bold crosses the expectations of any user, including designer expectations, and obviously the market expectations. The features of the Blackberry Bold betters every competitor rating, and even for users having an older version of Blackberry would not be able to willingly put down one Blackberry Bold in favour of their old ones.

Sprint Prepaid Wireless

sprint
Susan Miller asked:

It’s never been so easy to stay connected! With Sprint prepaid wireless phones, you can have the freedom you want and the great service you need — with no strings attached.

These days, nearly everyone has a cell phone. Wireless phones are simple to use, easy to carry and offer limitless freedom to talk, wherever you are. There are usually no sign-up fees, no long-term contracts that force you to commit to two or three year plans, no set monthly payments and no credit checks. These phones are so simple to set up and use it’s no wonder so many people have them.

Instead of costly long-term commitments, prepaid phone service allows you to be in control of how much you spend every month. There are plans that require you to make a minimum purchase, or put a time limit on the airtime you purchase, but these packages do vary. You can compare the limits offered with various providers, and the denominations of cards purchased. Even then, you’re still only buying the amount of minutes you’ll need. If you know that you’ll be using the phone less next month than you did this month, you can buy a card for a lower denomination with fewer minutes. If you find that you’re running short on airtime before the month ends, you can always purchase an additional card at any time.

Sprint prepaid wireless plans, and some other prepaid calling services, also allow you to avoid those nasty overages that can grossly inflate your bill. Rather than seeing your $40 monthly bill jump to an astronomical three-digits, the extra minutes you use will not be subject to ridiculously high rates. With a prepaid plan, you can simply buy extra minutes at the rate you normally pay. It’s a fair way of doing business that benefits cell phone users, rather than penalizing them.

Don’t worry that you’ll have to choose from a selection of poor quality equipment when choosing a Sprint prepaid wireless phone. The selection is almost identical to that of phones offered on typical monthly plans, including the latest in camera and videophones. One major physical difference is their “minutes display” feature that gives you a running tally of how many airtime minutes you have left on your prepaid account.

In the world of cellular phones, Sprint prepaid wireless plans offer flexibility, quality and affordability, making them very attractive and popular choices.

Pros and Cons of Iphone – Do You Think You Know Them?

iphone
Roberto Sedycias asked:

Apple introduced iPhone to the world market in 2007 and its 3G version in 2008. iPhone is a revolution in the cell phone industry. The sophistication and the general technological advances that the iPhone affords are second to none. The iPhone has won rave reviews by one and all in the smart phone sector.

At the same time, it will be wise to delve a bit deeper and take a reality check. The flaws of the iPhone should not be ignored.

Pros:

Storage space – The iPhone boasts of a huge 8 GB storage capacity. In fact, a 16 GB version is in the tube.

Design – The iPhone dimensions measure 115.5mm x 61mm x 11.6mm and it weighs a paltry 135 Gms. This makes it a sleek looking gadget. The iPhone has a liquid crystal display and a HVGA touchscreen. It is easy to interact with the iPhone using our bare fingers on a virtual keyboard.

Internet connection – Email, web browsing and Wi-Fi or GSM/EDGE connectivity are the very necessary services rendered by an internet connection in the iPhone. Safari is the web browser provided on the iPhone. Exclusive sites for the iPhone have been created o attract the user.

Multimedia – An extremely sophisticated music library is incorporated inside the iPhone. Endless films and shows can be enjoyed on the iPhone. A link is provided to iTunes Store which makes download of latest songs very easy. YouTube videos can be watched on the iPhone.

Camera – The camera function is out of this world. The quality of pictures is just astounding. The user can upload, view and e-mail photographs of choice.

Ring tones – The user has the independence to create and customize a ring tone of choice. He also has the option to download any ring tone from the iTunes store

Cons:

Email – The user has to open the e-mail program every time he wants to check the mail. An automatic notification is not available on the iPhone. This inhibits the efficiency of accessing e-mails.

Bugs – Being technologically complex makes it accessible to many bugs and errors. The touchscreen sometimes does not respond and there are system crashes. Hackers have found a way to unlock and access information in an iPhone.

Missing basic utilities – There is no cut and paste option in the iPhone. Provision for delivery reports and MMS are also missing. These are the basic utilities in a cell phone which have not been provided for in the iPhone.

Overpriced – The main disadvantage of the iPhone is its exorbitant price. The iPhone is priced at around $500 – $600 which does not make it an easy buy for the average customer.

Conclusion:

The final verdict is a bit difficult to deliver. The option to purchase the iPhone rests entirely on the needs of the user. The excellent, big and bright display and gorgeous photos and videos are a big draw for the iPhone. Automatic spell checking and correction and a dynamic dictionary make text input an easy job.

The Visual Voicemail feature enables the user to just tap and play back any message displayed. At the same time, it is difficult to get used to the intricacies of a virtual keyboard, and use fingers dexterously for the purpose of navigation. AT&T`s telephone network is not very healthy. Browsing is difficult and very costly.

Despite all these drawbacks, Apple sold 270,000 iPhones in the first 30 hours after its launch. Right now, Apple has released iPhone 3G in twenty-two countries and is expected to launch its product in many more countries as well.

Blackberry Applications Commonly Used At Work

blackberry
S. Kate Hobbs asked:

Blackberry has changed the lives of people in the corporate world, in more than one way. With Blackberry, loaded with applications, the executives can carry their office with them, wherever they go. They can do many things like accessing emails, opening the attachments in the emails, maintaining their calendar and address book etc., all on their Blackberry, itself.

Common Applications

Email: The connectivity of Blackberry to POP3 or Microsoft Exchange servers was the first and foremost application that made Blackberry a hit. The executives can access their office email anytime anywhere on their Blackberry and it is always ‘ON’. Initially, it was not possible to open the attachments in emails but this also got resolved with applications like Mobile Office. You can also access your Gmail account using Google mobile application.

Viewing Documents: As mentioned earlier, with new versions of Blackberry, it has become possible to view your documents, which are in Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF format. There are various applications like eOffice, available for viewing Microsoft Office documents. Using these applications, you can not only view but also create office documents. Also, there are applications to check your spellings and grammar while creating a document. Oxford dictionary and thesaurus is also available in a Blackberry.

Messenger Application: Various messenger applications are available to make your life easy. Some of the famous ones apart from the Blackberry messenger are Google Talk, IM+ All in one mobile messenger, IM+ for Skype and Twitterberry. You can chat with your clients, colleagues, or vendors while you are on move using these applications with any of your existing accounts like ICQ, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, Google talk etc. These applications help you to save the cost of text messaging.

Calendar: Blackberry applications act as your personal secretary and remind you of all your schedules, important meetings and events. You can maintain your calendar using Google calendar and use Google Sync to synchronize the same with your Blackberry. So, your Blackberry would ensure that you do not get late for your meetings or miss an important event.

Plan your travel: Blackberry has made life easier for all those people who are always on the move. Not only do it help you to communicate with your colleagues and clients but also helps you to plan your travel. With the applications like WorldMate Live and TravelMate, you can book your hotels, check weather, track your travel expenses and know your flight status etc. Google Maps helps you to know where you are and search where you want to go.

Google Search: The most widely used search engine is available for your Blackberry also. You can use this to search anything you are looking for. For e.g. it can help to search some technical information while preparing for a meeting or a presentation, or any other information required before meeting an important client.

With all these applications and many more getting added everyday, Blackberry has become an indispensable tool for all executives and entrepreneurs. Even organizations are looking at it as a productivity improvement tool and are training their staff on correct and efficient use of the same.

Iphone Prodam: Three Different Techniques to Unlock an Iphone

iphone
Nathan Rossiter asked:

There seems to be a lot of confusion around the iPhone 3G, and how to unlock it. There are tons of websites claiming/misleading that they can unlock the iPhone 3G with a software solution – they cant! There is no software unlock available yet for the iPhone 3G, anywhere!

No matter what your friend says, or what that website claims to do – it is impossible to Unlock an iPhone 3G with software. There is however a hardware SIM unlock for the iPhone 3G – it’s just as easy to install, doesn’t require any modding of your iPhone or SIM card and it works with all firmware versions. – I will talk more about this method later on, need to explain some more about the software unlock while we’re still on that topic.

You can currently “Jailbreak” your iPhone 3G with the software, the same software you would use to unlock your 1st generation iPhone will be able to Jailbreak your iPhone 3G. Jailbreaking your iPhone simply allows you to install your own 3rd party applications onto the iPhone. This process is reversible, so don’t worry if you mess anything up. Here are a couple of guides, the first on How to Jailbreak iPhone 3G and the second, Revirginize iPhone 3G (if you need to restore your iPhone 3G to factory settings).

In order to unlock any iPhone with software, it must first be Jailbroken – to allow you to install and modify the code on your iPhone 3G to unlock it. Please don’t be tricked into thinking there is a software unlock for the iPhone 3G, because there isn’t- the second the software unlock becomes available for the iPhone 3G you will be able to see it, and download it at Unlock iPhone 3G’s iPhone 3G Software Unlock Status page. If you see any website offering the software unlock for the iPhone 3G before it’s announced at Unlock iPhone 3G – then it’s 99% a scam, walk away.

Now… back to the hardware SIM unlock for the iPhone 3G. Basically this little device slots in your iPhone (in the same way your current SIM card does), and allows you to use your iPhone 3G on any network. It’s easy and it works! BUT there are loads of different types of hardware SIM now floating around on the internet, and most of them – like with the software unlocking companies *cough* site site site *cough* – are really rubbish products. They lack quality (reception, signal, phone call clarity, 3G issues) and some even require your cut your SIM card.

At iUnlock iPhone 3G, we have tried and tested over 20 variations of iPhone 3G SIM Unlocks, in order to provide you with the best solution. Our Unlock for iPhone 3G requires no cutting of your SIM, and there is no signal / reception problems at all! You will not even notice a difference. Our iPhone 3G Unlock ships worldwide, and you can get it for just £34.99 (there’s no need to update your hardware SIM, once you have it – it will keep your iPhone unlocked forever), this price includes access to The iArea, where you have access to thousands of iPhone Wallpapers, iPhone Themes, iPhone Downloads, iPhone Software and Premium 24 iPhone Support via our Ticket Support System.

I hope this clears up the iPhone 3G Unlocking Status for everybody.

iPhone 3G Software Unlock – Not Available

Blackberry 9000 Best Ever

blackberry
Jake Hyten asked:

Sleek, elegant in appearance and made with the highest quality materials the new BlackBerry 9000 provides the latest in functional use for the business world and at the same time offering features for the geeks in us all.

The new BlackBerry 9000 supports the latest in communication technologies such as HSDPA high-speed networks. It of course supports WI-Fi as would be expected and boasts built in GPS capabilities and several multimedia features. The BlackBerry 9000 bespeaks professionalism and style with its satin chrome finished frame, sleek black casing and leather-look backplate. A newly designed full keyboard makes the new BlackBerry Bold smartphone easier than ever to use.

The BlackBerry 9000 in particular is better than ever before. The HSDPA support and 802.11 a/b/g Wi-fi capabilities mean one thing for streaming video, loading web pages and downloading email attachments: speed. With a processor of 624MHz, two times that of the cousin curve, it outperforms any other handheld device on the market. It also features 128MB flash memory and 1GB onboard memory. A microSD/SDHC slot allows the user to add even more memory if desired. All of the applications you’ve come to expect from BlackBerry are present too – phone, email, web browser, organizer and messaging capabilities.

Some are calling the BlackBerry 9000s display panel the best ever seen on a mobile device: 480×320 half VGA resolution! This is a color LCD which is actually fused to the lens, meaning unparalleled image quality. Pictures are sharp and lifelike, videos play just as smoothly as on your PC and documents, messages and webpages are sharp and readable.

This incredible display quality combined with the latest generation of browser, the BlackBerry 9000 is made for the web. The trackball fills the functionality of a mouse, allows zooming on portions of web pages and the BlackBerry 9000 also allows users to decide whether they see the full website content or mobile version of a page, if available. The updated browser now supports downloading attachments and streaming video using RTSP standards.

Not only for the business professional, the BlackBerry 9000 can perform numerous entertainment duties as well. The 2 megapixel built in camera has the ability to record video and features 5x zoom and flash. The new media player on this model easily displays photos and slideshows, plays movies in full screen mode and can handle a music collection to boot! The headsets speakers provide a surprisingly rich, full sound and the BlackBerry 9000 even has equalization software for when it is plugged into external speakers or headphones. With 11 presets for different styles of music you get just the right sound.

The Roxio media manager, included in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager suite makes managing the users music and video files child’s play. Also included is Roxio Photosuite 9 LE, allowing the user to create photo albums, even enhance photos instantly. You can sync your iTunes collection with the new BlackBerry Media Sync application.0 support means you can transfer files form your PC to your BlackBerry Bold smartphone in a flash.

Another great feature is the integrated GPS, which can be used even while making a call. The BlackBerry Bold can tell you exactly where you are and with the BlackBerry Maps application, can tell you how to get where you’re going too.

State of the art acoustic design has gone into the BlackBerry 9000, giving the receiver a larger audio “sweet spot”; this means greater clarity for your calls. Voice Activated Dialing is also included, as is Bluetoth 2.0 support which makes for truly hands off operation.

A host of convenient extras are includes, such as a travel charger, carrying case, stereo headset and USB interface cable. Backplates are available in a variety of colors, allowing BlackBerry Bold smartphone users to personalize their phones. With a rechargeable 1500 mAhr battery you get 5 hours of talk time and 13 days of standby.

BlackBerry Pearl Review

blackberry
Veronica Topaz asked:

When you hold a BlackBerry Pearl in your hands for the first time you will probably wonder why so much can be pushed into one small box. A BlackBerry Pearl is one of the smaller BlackBerry’s. Most people like the large look and feel of the BlackBerry’s but there are consumers who prefer everything that a BlackBerry offers but without it being so big in size. There are some differences in the BlackBerry Pearl and the regular BlackBerry and we are about to look at those differences.

There are actually more advantages of owning a BlackBerry Pearl than any other BlackBerry. Like the BlackBerry Curve, the Pearl features a trackball that can be used just like a mouse is used on a computer. This can help you navigate through your menu and other selections quick and easy.

On the side of your BlackBerry Pearl you will find several little buttons that help you to get where you are going faster. These keys are referred to as your Convenience keys because they save you a few steps to get where you are going. You can access voice dialing, camera functions, master volume control, and more. You can also hook up your earphones for convenient listening or have immediate access to the USB port.

For BlackBerry Pearl users you may have noticed something different with the keypad. Because the keypad is smaller than the standard Blackberry there had to be some changes made in order to suit the smaller appearance of the BlackBerry Pearl. The first change came on the keypad by doubling up on the letters or function of each key. When you start typing a word you will notice a list of possible words to help you write quicker. You can choose from the list or create your own. If you have never owned a BlackBerry phone before then downsizing is not going to bother you all that much. If you have owned a BlackBerry Phone before than you will need to take time to get use to the smaller keyboard.

A BlackBerry Pearl has other brilliant features as well. Whether you are in to music or not the multimedia function on the BlackBerry Pearl is amazing and beneficial for viewing texts, creating video, taking pictures, and more. If you love the features of an MP3 player you are going to love the BlackBerry Pearl multimedia function. Imagine being able to capture every moment in time without carrying around a camera. The camera built into the BlackBerry Pearl will take care of all your pictures with class. Of course it’s always a good idea to purchase a memory card to hold all your pictures and music on your BlackBerry Pearl so it doesn’t consume all your memory.

Other features that are included with the BlackBerry Pearl include Microsoft Office so you can work on the go. Send attachments, answer emails, read important documents right from the palm of your hand. This program is well worth having as it allows you the freedom to be away from your desk without falling behind.

Create a video blog…instantly.
